Elfcapades 2012: Day 7

When we first heard from Santa about getting an Elf, we all had so many questions.  Of course, there was nobody here to answer for us, so it was just all speculation.  One thing we wondered was “What do Elves eat?”  Was I going to have to cook extra food every day for this Elf?  Would I even have food he likes in the house?

Well, we found out today.  Elves like sugar.  (At least our Elf likes sugar!)  We woke up this morning to see that he had discovered the candy basket.  He pulled it out of the pantry and onto the counter where he could really dig through it.  And dig, he did.  He dumped half of it over the counter and then after spilling a ton of skittles, dove straight into the bag!  NO SELF CONTROL, I tell you!

When we discovered Elfis this morning, Cooper could not believe it.  He immediately said Elfis was bad and told him he needed a TimeOut.  (So funny!)  And then he was upset that Elfis was eating all of our candy.

Apparently Elfis must have realized Cooper was right.  When we found him in the afternoon, the candy mess had all been cleaned up and put away, and Elfis was doing something a little bit unusual:

He put himself into TimeOut!  He was there all afternoon and even tonight at bedtime, still sitting there in the corner under his little sign.  He must be really, really sorry.  (Like Santa warned us, sometimes Elfis needs to be watched too, he is so new that he doesn’t always behave, and can cause a bit of mischief.)

At least he cleaned up after himself so I didn’t have to do it.  Maybe he’ll remember today’s TimeOut and behave for a while?  We can only hope…

You know I was so tried when I got home from Tacoma and the wedding reception that I don’t think I made a comment. Boy Elfis is pretty smart knowing he deserved to be in a time out for getting in to the candy and making such a mess. Hope he learned his lesson and won’t do that again. I guess Elfis didn’t go on the road trip to Grandma Andrea’s with you after being such a naughty little elf.
    Great Grammie
