Cooper’s 3rd Birthday Celebration
Yes, I know it’s been a couple months since Cooper’s birthday, but rather than not talk about it, I figure better late than never…
Cooper had a lot to celebrate this year for his birthday. In the last year, he became a big brother, moved from a crib to a big-boy bed, said a final goodbye to both his binky and diapers, and so much more. This is probably the first birthday that he’s really understood what was going on, was definitely into celebrating with cupcakes/cake, presents, singing, etc. He is growing into such a big boy and is so much fun (most of the time). 🙂
For Cooper’s birthday party, he specifically requested a Lightning McQueen cake. And the birthday boy got what he wanted:
Fun colors and toys to play with after all the frosting’s long gone. Pretty cool.
And, this birthday was not lacking in the sweets department. On his actual birthday (party was on the weekend, of course), we celebrated with an ice cream cake from Dairy Queen. SOOOOOOOO GOOOD!!! Look at Cooper licking his lips, waiting for the first bite of that yummy goodness!
And then blowing out his candles:
And don’t forget he had to celebrate with his friends at school, too. The night before his birthday, Cooper and I made BLUE cupcakes to take in for the party. Blue cake batter and blue frosting left some very blue messes in that classroom! 🙂 Here he is the morning of his birthday so excited in his birthday rocket shirt from Nana & Papa and nearly drooling over his blue cupcakes.
We managed to make it through all the parties without any sugar comas.
Cooper’s working on being an even bigger boy now: he’s a very helpful big brother, can count up to 12 or 13 without mistake, is working on learning his ABC’s, and LOVES (too much) anything Disney on the tv. We need to work on some of his toddler eating habits, and some words that even I can’t understand, but those will come with time (I hope). It’s fun seeing the new things he does (and hearing the new things he says) all the time, watching him grow. My baby is long gone, and he’s the first to tell it to me all the time, but at least he’s not too big for my hugs and kisses yet!
